PRIVACY POLICY
Effective Date: April 22, 2026
Company: Litania LLC
Contact: privacy@litania.studio
This Privacy Policy explains how Litania LLC (“Litania,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when you visit our website, place an order, submit a photo or other custom-order content, contact us, or otherwise interact with our store and services.
Our store is hosted by Shopify, which helps us provide the storefront, checkout, payment processing, fraud prevention, hosting, and related ecommerce services. Information you submit through the store may be processed by Shopify and its service providers as necessary to operate and improve those services. Shopify also provides privacy tools and settings that may affect how certain customer data is handled, including cookie and data-sharing choices where applicable.

4. Photo Submissions and Custom-Order Files
Photo submissions are used primarily to review, design, model, manufacture, fulfill, support, and, where appropriate, repair or remake your custom order.
Access to photo submissions may be limited to Litania personnel and service providers who reasonably need that access for those purposes.
We do not use customer-submitted photos for public marketing or promotion unless you separately and clearly consent.
We retain photo submissions and related custom-production files for 90 days after order completion or final support resolution, whichever is later, unless a longer period is reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, chargeback defense, legal compliance, or an open dispute. After that, we aim to delete or de-identify them within a commercially reasonable time.
5. How We Share Personal Information
We may share personal information with service providers and business partners that help us operate our business, including:
-
Shopify and other ecommerce platform providers
-
payment processors

-
with your consent or at your direction
If applicable law treats certain advertising or analytics practices as “selling,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising, we will address those practices based on our actual store setup and applicable law.
6. Shopify and Enhanced Services
Our store is powered by Shopify. Shopify may process personal information submitted through the store to provide hosting, checkout, payment processing, fraud prevention, analytics, and related ecommerce services.
If Shopify features or settings are enabled that involve additional customer privacy disclosures, such as cookie-banner tools, data-sharing opt-out tools, or Shopify Network Intelligence-related features, those settings may affect how customer data is handled and what choices are available to you. Shopify recommends that merchants review and verify these settings so they accurately reflect the merchant’s business operations and third-party services.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to:
-
enable site functionality
-
remember preferences
-
measure performance
-
detect fraud
-
understand site usage
-
support marketing or advertising where applicable
Depending on where you live and how our store is configured, you may be presented with cookie or privacy choices through Shopify’s privacy tools or another consent mechanism. Shopify notes that cookie banners and related privacy tools can be configured in Shopify admin and may be required in some regions.
8. Data Retention
We retain different categories of information for different periods depending on business need, legal requirements, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and support.
Order and transaction records may be retained for longer periods for accounting, tax, legal, and fraud-prevention reasons.
We aim to retain personal information no longer than reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, subject to legal or operational needs. European Commission guidance emphasizes transparency and storage limitation, which is why we define a specific retention approach for custom-photo files.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If you suspect unauthorized use of your information, contact us promptly at privacy@litania.studio.
10. Your Choices and Rights
You may opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in those messages or by contacting us.
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or portability of certain personal information, or to object to or opt out of certain processing activities. In some jurisdictions, you may also have the right to opt out of “sale,” “sharing,” or processing for targeted advertising as those terms are defined by applicable law.
To make a privacy request, contact us at privacy@litania.studio. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may have the right to appeal our decision or lodge a complaint with a relevant data protection authority, depending on where you live. European Commission guidance notes that privacy notices should explain rights and provide contact details for exercising them.
11. Children’s Privacy
Our website and products are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age required by applicable law.
12. International Processing
If you access our site from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed and stored in the United States and other jurisdictions where Shopify or our service providers operate.
Where required by applicable law, recognized transfer mechanisms may be used for international transfers. Shopify’s automated privacy materials and EU guidance both contemplate cross-border processing and related transfer disclosures where relevant.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or operational needs. When we do, we will post the updated version and revise the Effective Date above.
